Resuscitating Half-Dead Dreams

EMPOWER YOURSELF

Resuscitating Half-Dead Dreams

“If I had to attribute my success in life to any one thing, it was
that I believed in my dreams when no one else did”
Oprah Winfrey

Let’s start at the beginning; initiation is about beginning something. Now is the time to wake up and remember who you really are and how you want your life to be. It’s time to take those dreams off the shelf, dust them off, and get into action!

What is it for you right now? What’s the change that’s been nagging at you? What keeps calling your name over and over again – and probably has been for years? It’s time to declare these dreams that are important to you, as they are part of your authentic self. But please be clear: dreams are not about fixing what is wrong. Dreams are about standing in your life’s purpose, connected to your passion, your joy and your gifts.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. While waiting in the grocery store or the ATM line, occasionally your mind wanders to this great idea you once had. What was it?
2. When you graduated, you were pretty determined that someday you were going to…?
3. But then you never did because…?

The answers to these questions will lead us back to some of our dreams that have been tucked away. But as in any new beginning, are you willing to go for it? Are you really willing to live your dream life? Your intention and willingness will set the tone and pace for everything else. Are you willing to go all the way?

Focus more on your desire than on your doubt, and the dream will take care of itself. You will be surprised how easily this happens. Desire is a powerful force. Start to feel what you honestly want and how you would like your life to be. Start to dream. Declaration is a crucial step! Declare to yourself, others, and the universe what it is that you want. This begins your journey.

10 Truths About Achieving Your Dreams
(the first 5 are listed below and the next 5 will be found in June’s newsletter)

1. Everything returns to chaos!
• If you go on a diet, you will go off of the diet.
• If you pursue a dream, you will quit at some point.
• This doesn’t mean that you will not start your dream again. It just means that you must forgive yourself and move ahead.

2. There is no such day as “someday”.
• If you are waiting to wake up someday and just know that this is the long awaited day when it’s finally time to start – think again! There is no such day.
• Some of us wait for retirement, inspiration, or when we have time to pursue our dream. These are merely avoidance tactics.

3. Avoiding your dream is a choice you freely make.
• Why don’t you pursue your dream wholeheartedly?
• What holds you back?
• Is it really because you are “too tired”? Be honest!

4. Pursuing your dream is easier than you think.
• Do you know that you already have the directions to your dreams clearly imprinted on your soul… and all you have to do is listen up and follow along?

5. You are not alone – miracles do happen.
• Once you surrender and finally decide to commit to your dream, amazing things can and will happen.
• It’s as if the Universe “locks in” and says “Yes” and we get treated to one synchronistic surprise after another.

We need practice in the area of dreaming. We are not taught to dream, but rather to be realistic. What has this cost us? Many people use the word “realistic” like a pair of handcuffs, keeping them chained to some unexplored limitation. Dreamers are different from day-dreamers because they take action. They empower themselves by declaring their dream and by possessing the burning desire to manifest that dream. These people have changed their belief from “life will disappoint me” to “life is filled with miracles.” When you have this belief, you begin to lead a very different life. You’ll see…

This Month…

Start thinking about or journaling the following:

1. What was my dream when I graduated?
2. What do I really want now?
3. What makes me happy?
4. How can I be of service to others?
5. What excites me?

Empower Yourself – Try This-

After getting more clarity form answering the above questions, do you have a dream to declare? Work towards declaring your dream by either getting inspired to re-discover your passion or by starting your declaration with those that you love. Test it out. How does it feel?

Please feel free to ask any questions or to make comments. I will get back to you ASAP.

Until next month, warm blessings to all,
